Javed Ahmed Chughtai

Patron-in-Chief

Profile

Mr. Javed Ahmed Chughtai, Advocate High Court, joins Lex Justitia as Patron-in-Chief after thirty-six years in the criminal justice system of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He retired as Additional Inspector General (Legal), KP Police, having earlier held charge as Superintendent of Police (Investigation) and Superintendent of Police (Court & Litigation) — postings that placed him at the centre of how criminal cases in the province were investigated, prosecuted and carried through the courts.

That background gives his counsel an uncommon vantage point. Having supervised investigations and led the prosecution and litigation side of a provincial police force for over three decades, he reads an FIR, a case diary, a recovery memo and an investigation file from both directions at once — what the record is meant to establish, and where it does not hold. He advises on criminal defence and prosecution strategy, bail and quashment, and on departmental and disciplinary proceedings against police and other government servants, including inquiries, show-cause notices, appeals and service matters.

He remains in active practice as a member of the District Bar, Dera Ismail Khan. His work is characterised by close statutory interpretation, precise drafting and plainly stated advice: clients are told what the record actually supports, and what it does not.
